The three-time Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny is set to be featured in the new wrestling biopic, "Cassandro."

The first trailer of the wrestling biopic has released on Amazon Prime's Social Media. The movie is based on the career of legendary Saúl Armendáriz. The movie captures how Saúl came across his trainer Sabrina, who suggested him to compete as an exótico (luchador performing drag). This gave birth to his new identity known as Cassandro.

Golden Globe Winner Gael Garcia Bernal will star in the lead role of Cassandro, while the notable rapper & former WWE Superstar Bad Bunny will have a supporting role. The film is also set to star Joaquin Cosio and is directed by Robert Ross Williams.

The film is set to release on September 16 on a Limited Theater release while it will be available on September 22 via streaming on Amazon Prime. The movie had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2023.

Cassandro is currently not the only project of Bad Bunny outside of music. He recently appeared alongside Brad Pitt in 'Bullet Train'; he’s also set to star as the superpowered wrestler El Muerto in an upcoming movie from Sony’s extended Spider-Man universe. It will be the first time ever live-action depiction of El Muerto. The character has only appeared in Spider-Man issues twice.

Speaking about Bunny's appearances for WWE, he also made his presence felt for WWE for WrestleMania 39 Night One on April 1 and was also heavily involved in a storyline between Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Bunny also competed in a highly-praised San Juan Street Fight with Damian Priest at Backlash on May 6. Bunny previously competed at WrestleMania 37 in 2021 as well. It is not known if Bunny will compete in more matches for WWE.
