An update has emerged regarding the main roster plans for the rising luchador Dragon Lee.

Lee had signed with WWE in December last year and made his official in-ring debut at NXT Stand & Deliver in April 2023. He was featured in a Fatal 5-Way Match which was for Wes Lee's NXT North American Championship.

Dragon Lee has been quite impressive lately and has already made a huge mark on the main roster. His future looks bright as WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has also been endorsing him as 'the future of Lucha Libre.' Lee also recently faced Dominik Mysterio for the North American title twice. However, he only endured defeat in both the outings.

Lee, who is an NXT superstar had his second match against Dom on the September 25th edition of Raw where the rising superstar gave out his all but Dom Dom successfully defended his title.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that WWE higher-ups might have been very impressed by Lee's bout against Dirty Dom. Moreover, it seems that he had been quietly called up to the main roster within just a few months.

"Dragon Lee did so well with Dominik that it looks like he’s now on the main roster. The nature of the deal he signed did indicate he’d be on the main roster after one year in NXT to begin with, but the match with Dominik may have sped up his timetable."

On the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Dragon Lee squared off against Austin Theory. During the match, Grayson Waller interfered but Cameron Grimes came out to even the odds. In the final moments, Grimes took Waller out when Theory was going for A-Town Down on Lee in the ring. However, Lee managed to escape and executed a roll-up pin to defeat Theory.
