I hope that Tazz has been spending a lot of time in the gym lately because he is going to be carrying a lot of weight on his back, namely Mike Adamle, if last night's show was any indication. Yes, Adamle's debut most certainly was not a good one. The guy just came across as lost and showed he has a lot of work to do before he is even bordering on competent. It would be a great start to actually learn the names of the workers and also to not try and call a move unless you are sure what it is you are seeing. I could pick apart a lot of the things he said last night but I will give him something of a mulligan this week. If he doesn't improve next week however, he's fair game.
As for the show itself, it was your basic ECW show, with an appearance by the Undertaker. It was a decent effort, nothing more, nothing less.
The Angles:
- The best part about the dance off segment was that Mike Adamle couldn't talk while it was going on. Well, the best part was actually watching Layla gyrate, but you get my drift. They should have just ended it after Layla's and because none of the others could hold a candle to her. She is just rhythmically smoking. So of course, Kelly won. Ugh.
- Mike Knox squashed Colin Delaney. OK, I get it already. Colin is a loser and easy to beat. What is it with WWE creative where they either hotshot an angle or they take forever to progress it? I thought we were past Delaney just getting destroyed. And one more thing, what the hell is Knox getting a win for anyway? Even if the contraband found in that Georgia home wasn't his, nothing has come out yet to prove that so the guy should be off WWE TV until he is exonerated or suspended. It is just ridiculous to use him right now, let alone give him a win.
- Miz did a really good job on his promo. Morrison was solid too. I am really liking those guys as a team and they have grown a lot in the last few months.
The Matches:
- The opener was a fast-paced, fun bout. It was a good way to start the show.
- Well, I didn't expect Kane and Undertaker to lose to Miz and John Morrison and they didn't. Taker was there to hopefully bring some ratings to the show and he was going to go over. I had no problem with that. I didn't even mind the tag champs losing because they did so to a couple of singles belt holders. And, the tag champs actually got some offense in so on the whole it played out pretty well. The match itself was solid.
What To Make Sure And Watch If You DVR'd The Show:
- There is nothing bad on the show other than Adamle's on-the-job training. There was nothing must-see either. So, you know your time schedule and whether you have 42 minutes to kill.
Rhetorical And Unanswered Questions:
- How shocked were the people who don't read the internet to see Joey Styles leave at the beginning of the show?
- Didn't Mike Adamle get off to a bad start when he told Joey Styles that "You'll have some pretty big shoes to fill" when he meant that HE did?
- When Tazz said he needed to point out the rules of the opener, was he actually doing so for Adamle's benefit?
- Did you notice that Tazz definitely carried calling the action in the opener, and for most of the show?
- If Elijah Burke was really 103-3 in boxing, why they hell isn't he still doing it?
- What was with Adamle saying "The Tazz", "The CM Punk" etc.?
- Didn't the guy know how to speak before coming to WWE?
- Did I really see Tazz dancing on ECW?
- And, did he do so because it was a lot more fun than carrying Adamle?
- Boy, would you have wanted to try and follow Layla in the dance-off?
- And damn, could Maryse show any less sexiness if she tried?
- Does anyone else wonder if Kelly Kelly will ever be able to add a sexiness to go along with her hotness?
- And man, how can she be so devoid of it now?
- If Armando knows what his fans wants to see, why did he send out Mike Knox?
- Did Adamle really try to say that John Morrison looks like Tarzan but hits like Jane?
- Did Vince McMahon go nuts listening on the headsets when he did?
- And if he didn't, does that mean he has gone nuts already?
- Did you notice that while Miz started, as Morrison said he would, he didn't face off against The Undertaker?
