A romantic Hampshire couple have renewed their wedding vows - nearly 60 times.

Margaret and John Beauvoisin, who wed in 1948, have renewed their vows annually since 1950.

They only missed out 1949 because John was stationed in Bermuda with the Royal Navy, reports The Sun.

Ex-Labour councillor Margaret, 81, and John, 84, fought back tears during the latest church ceremony on their diamond anniversary.

Ten of their 11 kids and most of their 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren were guests in their hometown of Waterlooville.

Margaret said: "It reinforces our promise to love and care for one another. We are still very much in love. I'm a terrible housewife but John puts up with that and keeps on loving me."

John, 84, who met Margaret at a dance hall in Southsea, joked: "I still love her... somehow."
