WWE Smackdown 4th June 2010 Review By John

Opening Segment/Backstage Segment/Battle Royal

Overall, It felt like the Kane Show. Kane appeared many times & after a while, it got kinda boring. We really didn't need to see him go backstage and try and find out who was the man, did we? I also felt like Kane did a really good job in the opening segment on Smackdown, His emotion he showed was amazing. In the battle royal, I felt appalled that Rey won. It didn't make any sense for Kane to lose. Kane should have won that match taking him through to the Fatal4Way. I'm just angered at how stupid the outcome to this battle royal match was. Ugh.

Jack Swagger vs. MVP

I really liked this match. This match brought the best out in both guys & I'd gladly say that this was the match of the week. Unfortunately, The really simple finish of missing the kick then rolling him up could have been better. The finish brought the match somewhat down abit.

I liked how Archer/Hawkins "Made an impact" after the match. I really am liking this tag team. Let's hope they stick around...

IC Championship: Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston

This match got off to a good start, but I don't like how it ended. Basically, I hated it from the second Hardy walked in the arena because you knew what was going to happen & the acting by Drew was just terrible. He was trying to look scared/pissed but he couldn't. Kofi shinned in this match. I really liked tihs match, until Hardy ruined it.

Overall

Overall, this episode seemed to focus more on the Drew/Matt & Kane segments. It didn't feel like a normal episode of SD because we didn't see many wrestlers except for Drew, MVP, Swagger, Kane & Kofi (Until the main event). I think WWE did the completely wrong thing by putting Mysterio in the spot rather than Kane. It wasn't a good SD but it wasn't a really bad Smackdown. I'd say a 4.5/10.
