From The Desk of Maven T. Bentley, Esq. on this 3rd of October, 2010
Expect the unexpected… Those were the first three words John Zandig said to me when I became commissioner of CZW. Now with my good friend David Markland at the helm, no statement could be more true. At about 8:30Pm, after I wiped the tears from my face and resumed my position in the crow’s nest for Down With The Sickness, my walkie talkie starting beeping. Security wanted to know if HOMICIDE should be allowed in the building. I answered in the affirmative and met Homicide backstage. He asked if he could be part of the Combat Zone as he enjoyed each of his previous stints. I told him, he was more than welcome but would have to discuss a contract with DJ Hyde. Homicide asked me where DJ was. I pointed to the ring and the rest you fans saw…
A new era is dawning in CZW. Established veterans of the ring want to prove that they can still go. The young blood in our locker room wants to prove they are worthy of being mentioned with those veterans. Homicide is a veteran of ring wars who has done everything he possibly could in this industry, but he is on a mission to prove he still can! Sami Callihan has proven that there is nothing he won’t do to make it to the top of CZW. Although I have mixed feelings about Callihan, I do know what he is capable of.
On October 9, 2010 at the CZW Arena, an epic battle will take place. Two men, both trying to prove themselves to the most discriminating fans in the business today, will do the only thing they know how to: destroy the other man. Both men leaving their partners behind, will stand on their own. Can Sami Callihan reproduce the success he had while with the Switchblade Conspiracy? Or was his success just an effect of synergy? Will the Notorious 187 be as comfortable as he once was without being able to look to the Latin American Xchange for backup? I cannot answer these questions, but I can say that the winner will have started a new chapter in their career and the loser will be left badly beaten and wondering about his future.
