Angry WWE Creative Will be "What it Was Before" After Endeavor Deal

WWE's creative will be "what it was before" Vince McMahon's retirement last July, it has been claimed.

McMahon stepped away from WWE in 2022 due to the hush-money scandal that also resulted in John Lauriniatis' termination from WWE.

In McMahon's absence, Triple H was appointed WWE's Head of Creative and has replaced Lauriniatis as Head of Talent Relations.

This week, it was announced that WWE will be acquired by Endeavor in a deal for the sum of $9.3 billion.

In the announcement, it was said that McMahon will be Executive Chairman of the Board of a new company consisting of both WWE and UFC.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that WWE's creative direction will ultimately answer to McMahon, just like before his retirement.

“He was running TV tonight [during Monday Night Raw], he’s back. It’s what it was. It will be what it was before. And if people think that was bad, it will be bad. And that’s just the way it is. And the TV show was changed when Vince got there and it was changing as the show was going on. That was tonight and that will be what it is going forward.

Ari Emanuel is not going to be involved in the wrestling, Vince is running the company, Nick Khan will be number 2 and Paul Levesque will be Head of Creative so he’s going to be doing the busywork and all that stuff. Vince is going to have the final say in everything when it comes to that, and even with Ari Emanuel being number 1, Ari said in the interview that was released on CNBC Today that if there’s a disagreement and Vince doesn’t want something on the wrestling side, it’s not gonna get done.

They wanted Vince, and there you go. That’s the big picture stuff.”

Meltzer added that Triple H, who'll remain on as Head of Creative will be doing the "busy work" at WWE events.

McMahon has said that while he will be overseeing WWE creative, "on a higher level" he will not be handling the day-to-day booking.
