AEW Dynamite has drawn the worst rating of the year.

The Wednesday night episode saw a decline in viewership, drawing an average of 774,000 viewers on TBS. This marks a 14.1 percent drop from the previous week, and it's also the lowest audience total for a Wednesday night airing of the show since June 15, 2022.

In the crucial 18-49 demographic, Dynamite drew a rating of 0.24, which reflects a 22.6 percent decrease from the prior week. This rating is tied for being Dynamite's lowest in 2023.

This dip in viewership comes as Dynamite faced NBA competition for the first time since June, and it's well-documented that the NBA has typically had a negative impact on AEW's ratings. All the programs that outranked AEW Dynamite were either NBA games or basketball-related content, with the show securing the sixth position on the cable sports chart for the day.

Interestingly, this week, Dynamite had slightly lower viewership than WWE NXT's Halloween Havoc night one, with 774,000 viewers compared to NXT's 787,000. However, Dynamite did manage a higher rating in the 18-49 demographic, recording a 0.24 rating compared to NXT's 0.21.

On the AEW Dynamite episode, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli beat Kazuchika Okada and Orange Cassidy in a thrilling main event, but both Danielson and Cassidy suffered injuries. Shida also retained her AEW Women’s Championship against Ruby Soho, who was attacked by Toni Storm after the match. Ric Flair made his AEW debut and praised Sting, who announced his retirement match.
