Trick Williams defends the NXT Title against Eddy Thorpe

The NXT Championship will be on the line when Trick Williams defends the title against Eddy Thorpe. Thorpe was slated to compete in the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, but a mysterious attacker took him out and allowed the eventual winner Oba Femi to take his place. NXT General Manager Ava granted Thorpe the title match, only for him to reveal that he was never attacked and planned the whole thing in order to get a championship bout. Can the mischievous Thorpe stun everyone and capture gold, or will Williams continue the Whoop That Trick Era into 2025?

We see people walking in and around the arena, including disheveled Ethan Page while Je'Von Evans jumps past him.


Oba Femi vs Axiom (w/ Nathan Frazer)

Axiom with a kick to the leg and he tries to stay away from Oba. Oba backs Axiom into the corner and Axiom with a waist lock and Oba tosses him off. Oba backs Axiom into the turnbuckles with a Greco Roman knuckle lock. Oba with a clean break. Axiom with kicks to the leg and oba blocksa kick and he backs Axiom into the turnbuckles. Oba with a break and Axiom with a chop.or two. Oba blocks a kick and sends Axiom to the mat. Axiom kicks him away. Oba does not go over the top rope when Axiom drops down. Oba with kicks. Axiom goes for a springboard move and Oba with a chop to send Axiom to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Oba with forearms to the back. Axiom blocks a forearm and Oba with a knee to the midsection. Axiom with a boot and Oba with a chop in the corner. Oba puts Axiom on the turnbuckles and Axiom with forearms and he hits a missile drop kick. Axiom with kicks to the leg but Oba wtih a clothesline for a near fall. Oba with an arm wringer and a chop. Axiom with a chop and he tries for a float over into an arm bar submission but Oba blocks it and he puts Axiom in the corner and chops him many times. Axiom with a kick and chop but Oba with a chop. Oba tells Axiom to kick him and Oba with a chop.

Axiom with more chops when Oba asks for them. Axiom with a drop kick and a drop kick to the knee. Axiom with a round kick and Axiom gets a near fall. Axiom with a round kick and thrust kick for a near fall but Oba rolls through to set for a power bomb, but Axiom counters with a rana for a near fall. Axiom goes to the turnbuckles and he hits a missile drop kick. Axiom sets for Golden Ratio but Oba catches him and he tosses Axiom to the mat. Oba with a power bomb for the three count.

Winner: Oba Femi

After the match:
Frazer pushes Oba and the referee holds him back.


Backstage:
Sarah is with Eddy Thorpe and she mentions how he 'attacked himself'. Eddy says he is brilliant and he fooled all of the 'know it alls' out there. He says if it was anyone else, he is a genius but he is called a cheater. Ava shows up and she says there is nothing she can do. Eddy says he is learning to work smarter than harder. He says Ava will call him the new NXT Champion.

Backstage:
We take a look at Karmen coming to Dion for advice. Dion says Ashante was trying to help her and she should apologize. Karmen says he is right and she will apologize. They hug and Adonis happens to be in the hallway and he sees it and he is not happy about what he saw. He says he should go hug on Dion's girls. Adonis says he has had enough and he walks away. Karmen walks away while Dion is confused. He says he is going to go back to reading books and minding his own business.


Sol Ruca and Zaria vs Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson

Sol and Jackson start things off and Jakara with a drop kick and forearms. Jakara with a forearm and Irish whip but Sol catches Jakara on a hip into the corner and she spins Jakara and sends her face first to the mat. Sol surfs on Jakara's back and hits a thrust kick for a near fall. Jakara stops Sol from making the tag and Lash tags in. Jakara with a drop toe hold and Lash with an elbow drop to the back for a near fall. Lash with a waist lock and she rag dolls Sol. Sol with a standing switch and Lash holds on to the ropes on an O'Connor Roll attempt by Sol. Sol is sent to the apron and she leaps back for a Codebreaker. Lash sends Sol face first to the mat.

Zaria wants the tag and Sol obliges. Lash pushes Zaria and they lock up. Lash with a side head lock and shoulder tackle but Zaria stays on her feet. They go back and forth. Zaria gets Lash on her shoulders but Lash escapes. Lash goes for a choke slam and Zaria escapes. Lash blocks a suplex attempt and Lash slams Zaria but misses a splash. Sol tags in and hits a head scissors. Sol with a thrust kick to Jackara. Zaria gets Jakara on her back and Sol surfs on Jakara's back before hitting a cross body onto Lash on the floor. Zaria press slams Jakara onto Lash.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Lash has Sol up by her wrist but Sol gets to her feet and Sol goes for a sunset flip but Lash windmills to pick up Sol. Lash misses a splash and Sol with a rollup for a near fall. Lash with a forearm and she tags in Jakara. Jakara with punches and a chop. Jakara with a butterfly suplex and a round off elbow drop for a near fall. Jakara with a straitjacket choke. Jakara sends Sol back to the mat and stetches her over Jakara's knees. Sol floats over for a near fall. Jakara with an Irish whip and Sol with a float over but Jakara stops her. Sol with a rollup for a near fall. Sol misses an enzuigiri and Jakara taunts Zaria. Sol with a round kick and Zaria tags in. Zaria with a clothesline to Jakara followed by a jumping boot and a German suplex. Zarai with a spear for a near fall when Lash breaks up the cover.

The refeee holds Zaria back from Lash and Jakara clips Zaria. Lash tags in and each woman blocks suplex attempts. Zaria finally gets Lash over. Sol tags in and Sol with a springboard splash for a near fall. Jakara with a drop kick to Zaria off Sol's back. Lash with a slap to Sol. Lash with a bicycle kick when Zaria almost collides with Sol. Lash sends Zaria over the top rope to the floor. Jakara with a suicide dive to Zaria. Lash sets for the Lash Experience and hits it for the three count.

We look back at what happened with Tyriek Igwe after his loss.

Tyriek says he is getting tired of that. Tyriek says he doesn't care about being buddy buddy with everyone. What has that gotten them? He says it is about checks and championships. Tyson says there is a way to do it to not look like a sore loser.

Wes Lee is in the room and he tells Tyson that he might have to re-evaluate things. Wes says friends are overrated.


Jaida Parker (w/ Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) vs Wren Sinclair (w/ Myles Borne, Charlie Dempsey, and Tavion Heights)

Jaida with a knee and Irish whip but she runs into a back elbow. Jaida runs Wren into the top rope and she puts Wren on the middle rope and connects with forearms followed by the springboard seated splash. Jaida with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Jaida with an Irish whip and shoulder into the corner. Jaida misses a splash and Wren with a waist lock.into a full nelson. Jaida escpaes and she applies a full nelson of her own. Jaida with a suplex and she gets a near fall. Jaida with a double over hook and she stretches Wren. Jaida sits down on Wren while stretching her to add more pressure. Jaida with forearms to the back and a front face lock. Wren with a forearm and Jaida fires back. They continue the exchange and Jaida throws in a chop and slap. Wren chops Jaida a few times and staggers her. Wren with a clothesline.

Wren with a leap frog face plant followed by a butterfly suplex. Jaida rolls to the floor and we have a standoff with the men while Jaida pulls Wren to the floor. The men brawl to the back. Jaida gets Wren on her shoulders but Wren escapes and sends Jaida into the apron. Jaida misses a running hip and Wren with a rollup for a near fall. Jaida picks up Wren while Wren has Jaida in a front face lock. Jaida with a back elbow and a running hip for the three count.

Winner: Jaida Parker


Backstage:
Tatum, Gigi, and Shotzi are in the play area and Shotzi says she sees a lot of her in them. Tatum thanks them for helping her. Tatum says she doesn't have to play by herself any more. Gigi says they have to take care of Fatal Influence first. She was her best friend. Jacy is strongest when she has someone by her side.

Backstage:
We see Fatal Influence in ROOM and Jacy says they don't have what Fatal Influence has. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn show up and say new name, same attitude. Isla says there is a lack of unity in Fatal Influence. Alba says she sees harmony when she looks at her and Isla.

Backstage:
Axiom and Nathan Frazer walk in the back but Axiom has to stop and pause.

Women's NXT Tag Team Championships
Axiom and Nathan Frazer vs Mark Coffey and Wolfgang (w/ Joe Coffey)

Axiom wants Frazer to start and Frazer finally decides to start against Mark. Mark backs Frazer into the corner and he misses a punch. Frazer with a chop and Mark with an Irish whip and Frazer floats over and flips across the ring. Frazer with a rollup for a near fall. Frazer with a wrist lock and Axiom is not ready to tag in. Mark with a back elbow and Wolfgang tags in. Frazer with elbows and forearms. Mark with a back slide and Wolfgang with a knee drop to the face. Wolfgang kicks Frazer and he chokes Frazer in the ropes.

We see Luca and Channing watching MONITOR in ROM.

Axiom tags ina nd he connects with a back elbow and kicks followed by a head scissors to Mark. Frazer with a suicide dive to Mark and Axiom misses Wolfgang and hits Joe. Frazer with another suicide dive but Axiom collapses. Wolfgang with a uranage and Frazer is sent into the apron.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Mark with an Irish whip to Axiom. Mark kicks Axiom in the back and head. Wolfgang tags in and he catapults Axiom to Mark for a back body drop. Wolfgang gets a near fall. Wolfgang with a wrist lock and Irish whip. Mark tags in and Mark tries to Irish whip Wolfgang into Axiom but Axiom moves and tags in Frazer. Frazer with a springboard clothesline and a flying forearm. Frazer sends Wolfgang to the floor and he hits a shooing star press on Mark for a near fall. Frazer goes to the apron for a springboard move but he lands on his feet when Mark moves. Frazer with a kick and frog splash for a near fall.

Mark with a forearm and Wolfgang tags in and Mark with a jumping round kick and Wolfgang with a power slam for a near fall. Mark tags in and then he tags Wolfgang back in. Mark with a uranage and Wolfgang with a swanton but Axiom breaks it up. Mark sends Frazer to Wolfgang and Axiom with a super kick to Mark. Frazer with a rollup for a near fall. Frazer with a sleeper and Axiom goes for a Golden Ratio but Woflgang ducks and he hits Frazer. Axiom is catapulted by Wolfgang and he gives Mark a Destroyer. Frazer with a poisonrana. Wolfgang and Frazer exchange forearms. Frazer wtih an enzuigiri. Frazer is dropped on the turnbuckles and Wolfgang with a clothesline.

Wolfgang goes to the turnbuckles and Frazer leaps to the turnbuckles. Axiom tags in and Wolfgang blocks a Frankensteiner. Axiom with Spanish Fly and then they both go up top and Axiom with a swanton onto Joe and Mark. Frazer with a Phoenix Splash to Wolfgang for the three count.

Winners: Axiom and Nathan Frazer (retain championship)


Backstage:
Je'Von is in the back with Hank and Tank and he tells them it was a big win last week. Evans suggests that Hank and Tank will be the NXT tag champs in 2025. Evans talks about what he did in 2024. Ethan Page walks past them.

Backstage:
We are back with Charlie Dempsey and Lexis King's training session. Lexis asks about the cards Charlie is holding and they run the deck. Lexis holds his own with Charlie and Charlie says he is impressed. Charlie says he will keep his promise and Lexis has hit title match next week.

In-Ring:
Ethan Page comes out and he says, in a very low key way, that he is sorry. He says he needs to get this off his mind. He says everyone has every right to boo him. He says this is the same energy he has gotten at home the last few weeks. No one understands his journey to get into this ring. Nobody understands the promises he made to his family. He told his daughter he would win the big one and he did. He says he did it in NXT and he became champion. Not only did he become champion, he did it in record time. Faster than Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Finn Balor. He fought for 18 years to keep his promise to his daughter. He says he did it for his daughter, son, and wife.

Ethan says he wants to talk to his wife. Without you, there is no Ethan Page. He would not be standing in this ring and these lights and cameras would not on him, and these fans would not be having the time of their lives without you. Ethan says he got to live his dream because of you. He says he did it, but every time he loses, she loses, his son loses, and his daughter loses. When his daughter checks his bags and doesn't see the title belt. He talks about being shown videos of his son crying. He sees the disappointment in his wife's eyes. That is what is eating him alive. Ethan says he doesn't know if he loves this any more. Ethan says he has lost his smile.

Ethan says you can mock him for being emotional . . .

Je'Von Evans comes out and he apologizes for what he said back there. Evans says it doesn't feel bad hearing about other people's accomplishments. Since you have been here, all we have heard is what you have done. You came in here with that cocky ego. Evans says that is not really Ethan. Evans says he knows the real Ethan Page. He saw him at Heatwave. It wasn't what you did during the match, but after the match. You won the title and you looked at your wife and kids and you told them that you love them. Not everyone can do that. The joy you had when you saw your family after the match. It was no regular smile. It was a proud dad smile. It was a proud husband smile. It is someone who has busted their ass for 18 years to get where they had to be. You deserve to be here. The people know you deserve to be here.

Evans says we don't want to see All Ego, we want to see the real Ethan Page. Evans says he is proud of him and everyone is proud of him.

Ethan thanks Je'Von and he says Evans is right. Everything you said made it clear to him. He shouldn't be worried about losing his smile, he should be worried about taking yours.

Ethan punches Evans. Ethan gets a chair and he brings it into the ring and he puts it around Evans' neck. Ethan says if you want the real me, this is the real me. Ethan stomps on the chair and Evans starts to bleed from the mouth.

We go to commercial.

Backstage:
Sarah asks Trick about his match against Eddy. Trick says he wishes the best for Evans. He talks about how Eddy tricked his way to get a title match. Trick says he has proven all of the doubters wrong and he has proven himself right that he can carry this brand. The hard work will get it done. He says he has the fighting spirit. Oba Femi shows up and he wishes Trick luck because the winner faces him. He hopes it is Trick because he will take the title in three weeks. Trick says he is looking forward to it.

Video package:
Stephanie Vaquer tells Cora Jade that she does not know here. She worked hard to be the best luchadora in the world. Cora signed with NXT in 2021 and she was part of the new face of NXT. Vaquer says she is here and she found her way and will be everything that Cora wants to be. Next week, she will take Cora to meet hell.

Next week, Stephanie Vaquer faces Cora Jade. The D'Angelos will face OTM, Hank and Tank, and No Quarter Catch Crew in a Number One Contender match. Vic says that Sana will be on NXT next week.


Men's NXT Championship
Trick Williams (c) vs Eddy Thorpe

They lock up and Trick with a side head lock and take down. Trick with a shoulder tackle and a second one. Eddy goes to the floor. Eddy trips Trick but Trick kicks Eddy into the announce table. Trick chops Eddy around the ringside area before returning to the ring. Eddy with a twisting cross body. Eddy with a kick in the corner and he chops and kicks Trick. Trick with a pop up uppercut and a jumping side kick for a near fall. Trick with a drop kick. Trick misses a jumping side kick and crotches himself on the top rope. Eddy kicks Trick to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Eddy with snap mares and kicks for a near fall. Eddy with a cravate. Eddy with a knee when Trick tries to power out of the hold and Eddy with a brainbuster for a near fall. Both men collide when Trick tries for a cross boy when Eddy goes for a leap frog. Trick with punches and a flying clothesline. Trick with a flap jack. Trick with a uranage for a near fall. Eddy with a German suplex and a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. They exchange forearms and Eddy with a back heel kick and an enzuigiri. Trick with a round kick. Eddy with a back breaker and Trick backs Eddy into the turnbuckles. Eddy with a waist lock and Trick gets Eddy up and he hits a Death Valley Driver. Eddy blocks a move and Eddy with an exploder into the referee.

Eddy makes the cover but the referee is down. Trick with a rollup for a near fall when a second referee shows up. Eddy with a German suplex and a Yakuza Kick. Eddy with a second Yakuza Kick. Trick with a jumping knee when Eddy goes for a third one. Trick falls onto Eddy and both men have their shoulders down as each referee makes the count.
