Cody Rhodes’ final words before meeting with The Rock at Elimination Chamber

Last week on SmackDown, TKO Board member Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson told Cody Rhodes that he wants The American Nightmare to be his champion and that he wants his soul. The Undisputed WWE Champion will give his final words before coming face-to-face with The Final Boss at WWE Elimination Chamber.

-- Backstage: Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes ia wlking into the building and two men turn up and say they are there to escort him to his pre arranged locker room by The Final Boss The Rock.

-- In Ring: Trish Stratus's music hits and she makes her way to the ring wearing a Maple Leafs jersey. Stratus starts if it is the jersey since the crowd is cheering so loud and long for her. “Thank you, Trish!” chants broke out as she stood in the middle of the ring.

Stratus starts off by asking if it is the jersey and thanks Ring announcer Lillian Garcia for the introduction. Stratus wonders what year it is since Lillian Garcia is introducing her, The Rock is involved in things, and she is wrestling. Stratus says she couldn't think of a better place than her home town of Toronto for this weekend and she loves the generational impact that wrestling has. She mentions a little girl and she says that her dad probably had a poster of her when he was the child's age. lol. Stratus says when she wrestles at the Rogers Centre, it will be the first time that her kids will see her wrestle live. They show her kids as she waves to them in the front row. To be back here celebrating 25 years in WWE and mix it up with the next generation of talent is a great thing. She says she is beyond excited to team with someone who is taking the women's division by storm. Stratus brings out WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton.

Stratton's music hits and comes out in her own Maple Leafs jersey. She makes her way to the ring.

Stratus asks what time is it and and Stratton and Stratus say it is "Trishy Time and Tiffy Time." Stratus says she wants to show some love with the custom made jerseys and they take them off, which the crowd cheered for, kiss them and they toss them into the crowd. Stratton says they are in sync. Stratus says they have been training together and doing yoga together. Stratton says that is why they are going to beat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae tomorrow.

Chelsea Green’s music hits and Green walked out with Piper Niven dressed as a Canadian mountie.

Green said, “Nobody wants dumb and dumber hogging the air time,” Green says she deserves the air time because she is the U.S. Champion. She says much like Auston Matthews, she is the best thing to step in the arena tonight. Unlike Auston, she wins. Crowd boos. Green says the minute that she left this dump, everything was better for her. She became US champion and she is honored to represent the people of America. She says the people are better in America.

Stratton says she is from America and she says that Green does not represent her. Green says she does not represent losers and it is not tacky time. She says she does not need to have her mom dress her. Stratton then suggests a match tonight. Green says she has plans. Stratus says it sounds like a great idea. She says maybe Nick Aldis should send out a referee if he likes the idea. Green gets on the ropes and tells Aldis not to do it and a referee makes his way out and goes to the ring.


Non Title Match
Tiffany Stratton (w/ Trish Stratus) vs. Chelsea Green (w/ Piper Niven)

The match is joined in progress and Tiffany counters with an inside package for a near fall. Green gets a near fall. Green with a rear chin lock. Tiffany with a snap mare and then Green grabs Tiffany by the hair. Tiffany with a belly-to-back suplex. Tiffany with forearms and clotheslines. Tiffany with a handspring back elbow into the corner. Tiffany with a spinebuster for a near fall. Tiffany sets for an Alabama Slam but Green counters with a sunset flip for a near afll. Green with a Rough Ryder for a near fall. Green sets for UnprettiHER but Tiffany escaps and Tiffany with a Finlay Slam and a double stomp. Piper pulls Green to the floor to avoid a Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Trish attacks Piper and Tiffany with a swanton onto Green and Piper.

Tiffany sends Green back into the ring but Nia and Candice attacks Trish. Tiffany pulls Nia to the floor and sends her over the announce table.

Winner: Tiffany Stratton (by disqualification)

After the match:
Freen and Pipen left quickly as Stratus, Stratton, Jas and LeRae brawl in the ring until Stratton sends Stratus into Jax, who goes out of the ring and then Stratus with a drop kick to LeRae who falls to the mat. LeRae is is pulled out of the ring to the floor by Jax as they head to the back. All four start yelling at each other.


-- Ringside: Commentatots Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett talk about the US Championship situation.

-- Backstage: Smackdown GM Nick Aldis says there has been a dispute over who is the number one contender for Shinsuke Nakamura's WWE U.S. Championship. Aldis says six men will determine the definitive number one contender tonight. Braun Strowman will face Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight faces Santos Escobar, and Andrade faces Solo Sikoa.

-- Backstage: Solo Sikoa walks in the back and he stops to talk to Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga. Fatu says last week was an accident and Sikoa says 'sure' it was an accident. Fatu says he wants to know what is wrong with Sikoa. Sikoa says what happened last week made him realize that the family has to make a statement and it starts with him taking the U.S Championship. That is why he wants Fatu to do it. He says he wants Fatu to represent the family and get the championship. Sikoa says everything he is doing is to show how much he loves Fatu.

-- Backstage: Cody Rhodes was shown in his fancy locker room and there was fancy food and fancy wine etc, it was luxury but looking around he sees R-Truth relaxing on the lounge, who popped up and said maybe Rhodes should think about teaming with The Rock. Truth told Rhodes not to be “shell fish,” and Rhodes invited Truth to eat whatever he likes. Truth also asked for Rhodes to ask Rock for some jelly rolls. Rhodes says he is sure he can do that.


Qualifying Match for the #1 Contender Match for the WWE U.S. Championship
Andrade vs. Jacob Fatu

Andrade with a side head lock. Andrade floats over in the corner and returns to the side head lock. Fatu with a shoulder tackle. Andrade avoids Fatu and Fatu goes into the corner. Andrade with a chop. Andrade with a Flair Flip and he connects with a forearm and hits a cross body. Fatu charges at Andrade and Andrade drops down. Fatu goes to the floor. Andrade with a pescado into a rana on the floor. Andrade goes up top and he hits a moonsault onto Fatu but Andrade holds his ribs. Andrade sends Fatu into the ring and he goes up top but Fatu crotches Andrade and Andrade rolls to the floor.

Fatu sends Andrade into the announce table. Fatu punches Andrade. Fatu works on the neck. Fatu with a hard Irish whip. Andrade with a jaw breaker but Fatu with a pop up Samoan drop. Fatu with head butts in the corner followed by an Irish whip and splash in the corner. Fatu runs into a boot in the corner and he runs into boots again. Andrade counters a pop up move into a poisonrana. Andrade with forearms and clotheslines but Fatu stays on his feet. Andrade with a flying forearm and he sets for the running double knee strike in the corner.

Fatu gets up and hits a back elbow. Fatu misses a running hip strike in the corner. Andrade with a kick. Andrade sets for the running double knee strike and he hits it. Andrade goes up top for the moonsault and Fatu rolls out of the way so Andrade goes for the Andradesault and he connects for a near fall. Andrade sets for The Promise but Fatu with a back drop and two running hips into the corner. Fatu with an Impaler DDT followed by a double jump moonsault and the three count.

-- Earlier today: Smackdown GM Nick Aldis is with the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Montez says they were promised a tag team championship match and it continues until they get their match. Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Angel and Berto) show up and Escobar says they are waiting for the apology for accusing them. Dawkiins says they aren't apologizing. Escobar says they will beat it out of them. Aldis tells Escobar to save it for LA Knight tonight. Aldis says the Garzas will face the Street Profits.


Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo vs Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins

it was suppose to be Legado Del Fantasma (Angel and Berto) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) but as The Street Profits were making their entrance for their match ... DIY (Gargano and Ciampa) ran out to attack them and a huge brawl starts. Pretty Deadly (Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker) decide to join in and make their way to the fight. Then Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin ) say why not and run down and join in the brawl. All tag teams just brawl all over the place. Security try to break them up but fail and just give up and let the brawl go as they surround the ring. Security finally get a little bit of calm but there is still fighting going on around the place. That is how we leave it. Seems like the Tag Teams drama from the last weeks may be coming to an end at Wrestlemania in a huge match, just a thought.


-- Backstage: Drew McIntyre walks in the back and he sees Cody Rhodes roaming outside of the luxury locker room. McIntyre says he doesn't know what he would do if he was in Rhodes position. He says a decade ago they were so far down on the card that they would have done anything if given that offer.

-- Video Package: John Cena and the Elimination Chamber but ... Drew McIntyre makes his way through the crowd and stops the John Cena video package.

-- Ringside / In Ring: Drew McIntyre says John Cena only returns for ego trips and he called Cena out for Cena’s bald spot. He says he does not know what 2010 John Cena would say about today's John Cena. He would make poopy jokes and then criticize himself for going to Hollywood. He would then make fun of his bald spot. He says he used to be scared of Cena when he was a kid, not physically, but politically. He brought up a Toronto Screw Job and .....

Damian Priest’s music hits.

Priest tells McIntyre that is enough. All you do is complain, cry and you want sympathy from the people but they see through your delusional thoughts. McIntyre says he is telling the truth. Priest says R-Truth makes more sense than McIntyre.
Priest says McIntyre won at Wrestlemania, but you were focused on Punk and you lost the championship and then you win at Money in the Bank and you lost the 'Cash In' because of your obsession with Punk. Priest says he is looking forward to pinning McIntyre tomorrow night. Priest says thanks to Punk and your obsession with hiim, the last time we were in this building, he dropped beat McIntyre. We can do it again. McIntyre says he is okay with it and ...

Seth Rollins’s music hits and Rollins makes hsi way to the ring.

The crowd sang Rollins’s song as Rollins stepped into the ring. Rollins thanked Toronto and said he wanted to join the party as Priest and McIntyre were talking about Elimination Chamber. Rollins called McIntyre’s MITB 'Cash In' the worst of all time and said it won’t be the same Seth Rollins that hobbled into WrestleMania last year. Rollins says nobody stands a chance against him in the Elimination Chamber match tomorrow night.

CM Punk’s music hits and makes his way to ringside.

Punk stood at ringside and said, “Is it great to be alive on a Friday in Toronto or what?!” Very loud “CM Punk!” chants broke out. Punk told Rollins he looked like an oven mitt. lol. Punk says he has no personal issue with Priest. Punk said McIntyre and Rollins are obsessed with him, but Punk is obsessed with having his WrestleMania main event. Punk brought up The Rock wanting Rhodes soul and says McIntyre doesn't have one. Punk called out how Cena hasn’t shown up anywhere on his retirement tour and God bless him for that.

Rollins says Punk will not main event Wrestlemania, over his dead body. McIntyre says he owes Rollins one and he owes Punk. Priest says after the Chamber, all McIntyre will do is complain on the internet. Rollins says all of Punk’s chants will die along with Punk’s Wrestlemania dreams.

John Cena’s music hits and the crowd goes wild but instead of Cena, Logan Paul walked out to massive boos.

Logan says John Cena doesn’t care about Canada as he stood in the entranceway. He says Cena can’t show up because he’s a “classic celebrity wrestler”. Logan called out Punk and then went to Rollins, calling him the peacock of WWE and Rollins was wearing curtains. Logan says McIntyre can’t win a championship just like the Toronto Maple Leafs. Loud boos from the crowd. Logan says Priest is irrelevant. Logan went back to Punk and talked about how he slapped Punk on Monday. Punk yelled do it again and ran up the ramp and Logan shouted start Cena's music as he ran to the back.

-- Video: We take a look at the Kick Off Show earlier tonight when Bianca Belair and Naomi attacked Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

LA Knight vs Santos Escobar

They lock up and Santos pushes Knight on the break. They lock up and Santos with a side head lock and take down. Knight with a head scissors and Santos escapes into a side head lock. Knight with a hammer lock. Santos with a back elbow and punches. Knight with punches and a side head lock. Santos with a shoulder tackle but Knight with a knee to the midsection. Santos with an Irish whip and drop kick into the corner. Knight with a kick and clothesline. Knight with a Side Effect and he goes to the turnbuckles for the double jump elbow but Santos moves and Knight lands on his feet. Santos drops Knight's throat on the top rope. Knight sends Santos to the floor.

Knight misses the drop kick through the ropes when Santos moves. Santos sends Knight into the ring steps.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Santos with a chop. Knight chops back. The exchange continues. Knight throws some punches but Santos with kicks to the leg. Santos with a head butt but Knight with an Irish whip that sends Santos sternum first into the turnbuckles. Knight with a neck breaker for a near fall. Knight with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot. Santos sends Knight into the turnbuckles. Santos with a snap mare and a double wrist lock. Santos with a knee to the midsection but Knight with clotheslines. Knight with a pop up power slam. Knight with the YEAHple's Elbow. Knight sets for the BFT but Santos runs Knight into the corner. Santos with a kick. Santos misses a splash in the corner. Knight with kicks. Knight goes for a running hip into the corner but Santos with a drop toe hold. Santos puts Knight on the turnbuckles.

Santos goes up top with Knight and he hits a super Rana for a near fall. Santos with a kick in the corner. Santos with a running shoulder into the corner followed by a kick and he hits a slingshot senton from the apron. Santos goes up top for a twisting splash but Knight counters with a cutter into a BFT for the three count.

-- In Ring: Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring. Zayn says to say that him and Kevin have been through a lot, it would be an understatement. He says he feels like Owens has been doing a lot of running and hiding. You are shooting videos and he knows that Owens is in Toronto. Zayn says he is standing in the middle of the ring and if Owens has something to say, out of respect for what they have gone through, he wants Owens to come to the ring in front of their countrymen and say you final peace. Zayn says hafter tomorrow, there will be nothing left to say.

Owens shows up on the big video screen / titantron in Rogers Centre where the Elimination Chamber PPV will be tomorrow night. Hesays he didn't want to show up and have something happen to your neck like before. We want you as safe as possible for tomorrow. They have had many fights in Toronto, but not in a building like this and this will be the biggest match they have had against each other. He says ou are trying to convince everyone that he is the bad guy but he is not the bad guy. Everything that you have done and everything that will come to you is deserved. After tomorrow, when he has ended your career and you are in a wheelchair and cannot provide for your family, he is not going to help them. He says he is going to watch them suffer and this is all your fault.

Zayn says he knows it isn't the tough guy thing to say that you are nervous before a big fight, but he is nervous. He says he is not nervous about what is going to happen to him, he is nervous for what is going to happen to you. He says he is nervous for Owens family and that they won't forgive him for what he does to Owens. If they don't forgive him, he is willing to live with that.

Owens says there is only one thing left to say, see you tomorrow night and hits the camera. Zayn just stares at the screen as he is standing on the ropes now.

-- Backstage: Miz is with Carmelo Hayes and he mentions that they are 1-0. Hayes says that is 'awesome' but Miz says it is AWES-HIM. Hayes walks away. Cody Rhodes is walking and Miz stops him and asks how is Rhodes doing. Miz wants to know what Rhodes is going to do and that he is from Hollywood but The Rock runs Hollywood. Do you want to be the fourth judge on a failed show or do you want to be on the top? There is so much more and you will get it only if you accept the Rock's offer.

Carmelo Hayes vs Braun Strowman

Braun with a chop and Irish whip followed by a clothesline in the corner. Braun with a biel and Hayes goes to the floor. Braun with a wacky lap and he sends Hayes back into the ring.

Tama Tonga gets on the apron to distract the referee. Solo Sikoa hits Braun in the back with a chair and it has no effect. Braun hits Solo with the chair. Braun catches Tama off the apron and sends him over the announce table. Hayes tosses the chair to Braun and he drops like he is a Guerrero. The referee, not seeing anything calls for the bell.

Winner: Carmelo Hayes (by disqualification)

After the match:
Perez was in the ring by herself after pinning Bayley and celebrating, all the other women were out of the ring on the floor. Alexa Bliss shows up in ring and hits Sister Abigail on Perez. After this the screen had static again.


-- Backstage: Byron Saxton interviewws Charlotte Flair. Saxton asks about Trish and Tiffany and their match tomorrow. Flair says Tiffy and Trish is a cute team, but when the smoke clears, she has to face Charlotte Flair. There will be no help at the end of the rainbow. She says she will see Stratton at Wrestlemania 41.

Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez vs Naomi, Bayley, and Bianca Belair

Naomi and Liv start things off and Naomi with a drop kick and a hesitation drop kick in the corner. Liv goes to the floor and Raquel and Perez check on her. All three get in the ring and then the other two join in and they pair up with Liv and Naomi remaining in the ring while Perez and Bayley battle and Bianca and Raquel do the same. Liv with kicks. Naomi forces Liv to the floor. Bayley tags in and Bayley hits a suicide dive on Liv and then on Perez. Bayley hits one on Raquel. Bayley goes to the floor and she connects with a forearm to Perez and then sends her into the ring. Liv comes back in since she is legal. Liv with a kick and she skips in the ring and kicks Bayley. Perez tags in and she kicks Bayley.

Perez sends Bayley face first into the mat. Perez with an Irish whip but Bayley with a clothesline out of the corner and she follows with a Saito suplex for a near fall. Perez with a side Russian leg sweep like move. Liv tags in and Bayley with a rollup for a near fall. Bayley with an Irish whip and elbow into the corner. Liv with a boot to Bayley in the corner. Raquel tags in and wrings the leg into the ring post. Raquel sends Bayley back into the ring and gets a near fall. Bayley with a side head lock and Liv tags in and kicks Bayley in the hamstring. Liv slams the leg into the mat and runs in place on it. Raquel tags in and hits an elbow drop to the leg.

Bayley with a springboard bulldog. Bayley with a forearm to Perez on the apron and Bianca makes the tag and hits a cross body. Bianca with a clothesline and drop kick. Bianca with an Irish whip and a shoulder into the corner. Bianca with an other Irish whip and shoulder. Raquel with an Irish whip and Bianca with a back elbow and she flips over Raquel. They block suplex attempts but Bianca with a suplex and a handspring moonsault for a near fall. Bianca punches Raquel on the turnbuckles and Liv charges but Bianca uses her sonar to flip over and she takes care of Liv. Naomi with a slingshot tombstone on the apron. Raquel stops Naomi and hot shots her. Perez tags in and Naomi with an enzuigiri to Raquel. Naomi with a kick to Perez. Naomi with a Tiger Feint bulldog. Bayley wants the tag and Naomi obliges. Bayley with an elbow drop off the turnbuckles for a near fall.

Raquel with a boot to Bianca. Raquel blocks a head scissors but Naomi sends Raquel and herself to the floor. Perez goes for Pop Rox but Bayley escapes. Roxanne avoids Rose Plant and hits Pop Rox for the three count.

After the match:

Jacob Fatu vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. LA Knight

Knight goes after Fatu and Hayes punches Knight. Fatu pulls Hayes off Knight and Fatu punches and kicks Knight. Knight pushes Fatu into Hayes. Fatu sends Knight into the turnbuckles and he runs into boots from Knight. Knight with a bulldog off the turnbuckles to Fatu and Fatu pops up and he goes over the top rope to the floor when Knight drops down. Hayes with a rollup and he knocks Fatu off the apron. Knight with a double jump elbow drop to Hayes but Fatu sends Knight to the floor. Fatu with a head butt and punch to Knight. Hayes hits Fatu from behind and Fatu sends Hayes into the apron. Knight with an elbow as he avoids being sent over the ringside barrier. Knight with punches. Hayes with knees to Fatu and a head butt, but Hayes realizes you don't head butt someone from a Paciific Island.

Fatu with an uppercut to Hayes and then Knight sends Fatu into the ringside barrier. Ftu with an Irish whip to Knight into the ringside barrier. Fatu sends Hayes into Knight against the ringside barrier and it is time for a cross body but Hayes and Knight drop down. Fatu goes into the time keeper's area. Knight sends Hayes into the announce table and he hot shots Haye. Knight gets a near fall. Hayes with a back elbow and a drop kick to knock Fatu off the apron. Hayes kicks Knight and hits a slingshot senton. Knight with a back body drop to Hayes. Knight gets a near fall on Hayes. Fatu with a thrust kick to Hayes. Fatu with an Irish whip and splash into the corner. Knight avoids a splash from Fatu but Fatu with a clothesline. Hayes with a kick to Fatu but Fatu with a clothesline.

Fatu chokes Knight in the corner. Fatu with kicks to Knight. Fatu with a release suplex to Hayes and then he hits a splash on Knight in the corner. Knight punches Fatu and Fatu with a head butt to stop him. Fatu with another release suplex to Hayes. Fatu drops Knight on the apron. Fatu misses a running hip on Knight but Fatu with a flying shoulder tackle. Hayes with a thrust kick to Fatu and Fatu with a thrust kick to Hayes. Fatu misses a back senton on Hayes. Hayes with a springboard DDT but Fatu pops up. Fatu blocks a kick and hits a pop up Samoan drop. Knight with a neck breaker to Fatu for a near fall.

Hayes gets a near fall. Hayes goes up top and Knight punches him. Knight pushes Hayes off the turnbuckles onto Fatu. Fatu catches him and sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Knight with a springboard cross body to Fatu onto the announce table. Hayes sends Knight back into the ring. Hayes drops Knight on the top rope. Hayes goes up top for Nothin But Net and hits it but Fatu with a swanton to break it up. Fatu with a running hip to Hayes and an Impaler DDT to Hayes. Fatu with a double jump moonsault but Knight pulls Fatu out of the ring and Knight gets the three count.

-- In Ring: Commentator Michael Cole is in the ring and out Undisputed WWE Champion brings out Cody Rhodes.

Cole asks Cody about the Elimination Chamber match and about the decision he has to make tomorrow night. Cole says the Cody Rhodes he has known for 20 years would say no. You left and came back n even bigger star and you main evented two Wrestlemanias, plus you got to finish your story. You represent everyone in WWE and you are living up to the legacy of your father Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes started to talk but Cole interrupted saying Rhodes was trying to deflect. Cole says Rhodes could be the Corporate Champion and Rock could give Rhodes a seat on the TKO board. Cole says “no more live events in small towns,” and Rhodes could get rid of his travelling bus and be home with his wife and daughter.

We have been talking and texting all week and even face timed once. You are going to do the right thing and Rock hopes Rhodes enjoys the gift, a truck like The Rocks. It is a gift from him to Rhodes. You love driving on the open roads, on the dangerous roads, on the dusty roads. God bless Dusty's soul. He says he has been talking to Rhodes dad all week. The Rock knows Rhodes has been talking to his dad all week because Rhodes dad told him. The Rock says RHodes dad knows he will make the right choice. He says he will be able to make all of Rhodes dream come true. Everything you want will come true. He says all of your dreams will come true with one decision. You will give him your soul and he will become his champion.

The Rock shows a weight belt that was over his shoulder and it says Cody's soul and it says June 11, 2015. He says you know the date on it. It's the date that Dusty Rhodes died. Don't break his heart. Rock tells Cody he loves him. Rhodes looks confised again as The Rock goes to board his plane.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to address the crowd just one day before his confrontation with The Rock at Elimination Chamber.

With this weekend's Elimination Chamber happening in her hometown of Toronto, Canada, there's no surprise that WWE wanted Stratus on tonight. Stratus is teaming up with WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton to take on Nia Jax and Candice LeRae tomorrow night. I would expect Jax and LeRae to be somewhere there also.

New plans for tonight:

WWE has changed its plans for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. LA Knight was scheduled for tonight but WWE posted a video this afternoon with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis revealing that the match is off. There will instead be a mini tournament to prove who is definitively deserving of a U.S. Championship shot.

The current first round matches are:

-LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar.

-Jacob Fatu vs. Andrade.

-Carmelo Hayes vs. Braun Strowman.

So, I guess that championship match is not on or is diverted in some way.

That was along show. What was the point of the WWE US Championship tournament when we ended up back where we began in the first place. Either WWE needed to fill up 3 hrs or Nakamura was not there for some reason. I am sure he would have been at ringside if he was there.
