Reports suggest that wrestling legend Paul Wight has signed a new contract with AEW.

Wight originally penned a multi-year deal with AEW in February 2021. That deal included roles as both a commentator for AEW Dark: Elevation and as an in-ring performer.

Sources within AEW confirmed the new deal to Fightful Select, though neither the promotion nor Wight have issued an official announcement.

The veteran has wrestled sparingly since joining the promotion. Injury issues have limited his match frequency, with Wight appearing primarily in special attraction bouts rather than regular competition.

Wight has not held any championships in AEW and does not appear in the promotion's current singles or tag team rankings. His role has shifted more heavily toward commentary and occasional appearances rather than consistent in-ring work.

Paul Wight was seen inside the ring at the Jericho Cruise in 2024. He joined forces with Chris Jericho and Mike Bailey to take on Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Lance Archer. His most recent appearance on AEW TV came during the Full Gear Tailgate Brawl last November, where he joined the commentary desk for a singles match between QT Marshall and Big Boom AJ.
