Brock Lesnar’s future in WWE is once again under the spotlight after a notable change followed his SummerSlam loss to Oba Femi.

While nothing has been officially announced regarding his in-ring career, WWE’s latest moves have reignited questions about whether “The Beast Incarnate” has wrestled his final match.

The uncertainty comes just days after Lesnar’s brutal Hell in a Cell defeat at SummerSlam in Minneapolis. Although his emotional post-match comments hinted at a passing of the torch, WWE has now added another layer to the story.

Following his defeat to Oba Femi, Lesnar has been moved back to the Alumni section of WWE’s official website. The company also aired the same career retrospective package on the August 3 episode of RAW. This same video originally played after WrestleMania 42, when Lesnar first stepped away after losing to Femi.

That earlier retirement didn’t last forever. WWE later returned Lesnar to the active roster when he came out of retirement to continue his rivalry with Femi at Clash in Italy before their Hell in a Cell showdown at SummerSlam.

After the latest loss, Lesnar addressed the crowd. He acknowledged the changing of the guard, saying Oba Femi is “the future” while he is “the past.” It was another symbolic moment that fueled retirement speculation, despite The Beast not announcing the end of his career.

Meanwhile, RAW reinforced that message with the tribute package before Femi reflected on their rivalry. The reigning star said he eventually realized Lesnar’s return wasn’t driven by jealousy or revenge but by a final test to see if he had chosen the right successor.



“I went into the cage with one of the most dangerous and most decorated combat athletes of our generation,” Femi said. “The Beast can finally rest.”

Despite WWE’s presentation, Lesnar’s long-term status remains unclear. He previously walked back one retirement. Chief Content Officer Triple H also recently kept the door open by saying Lesnar “does whatever he wants.”

For now, however, WWE is treating Lesnar as a legend of the past while Oba Femi continues building the future.
