MJF made his long-awaited return on the August 5 edition of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam Mexico, but he didn’t walk back into the spotlight quietly.

Instead, the former AEW World Champion crashed a major celebration and immediately made his intentions for AEW All In crystal clear — though not before leaving plenty of destruction in his wake.

The shocking comeback came moments after Andrade El Idolo earned the No. 1 entry in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In by defeating Komander and Tommaso Ciampa in a three-way qualifier.

Following his victory, Andrade addressed the Arena México crowd, saying he was proud to be home and promising to win the Casino Gauntlet before capturing the AEW World Championship for himself, for Latinos, and for Mexico.

Before the celebration could gather any more momentum, MJF’s music hit. The “Salt of the Earth” didn’t waste time making an entrance through the curtain. Instead, he blindsided Andrade from behind with his custom AEW World Championship belt, reclaimed his Dynamite Diamond Ring, and continued the assault on the entrance ramp.

MJF repeatedly struck Andrade with the ring before driving him off the stage, sending him crashing into Komander below. As medical personnel rushed to assist Andrade, Friedman grabbed a microphone and insisted he remained AEW’s true champion.

“I am your champion,” MJF declared. “At Beach Break, I had Kenny Omega dead to rights… until that talent hack, Will Ospreay, got involved.”

He continued to take aim at Omega’s title reign, saying, “It is thanks to Will Ospreay that that paper champion, Kenny Omega, gets to waltz around with a toy belt… That was mine. It was my main event.”

Rather than dwell on the past, MJF quickly revealed his next move. “Next week, we’re in Vegas, and I’m feeling lucky… I’m going to enter that match. I’m going to win that match.” He also vowed to “dog-walk that perro Andrade again” at Wembley before capturing the Casino Gauntlet contract.

With one explosive return, MJF reminded everyone why he’s always in the main event conversation. Whether fans like it or not — or as MJF might put it, that’s his story, and he’s sticking to it — the road to All In just gained another dangerous player.
