Default Will Shelton Benjamin ever reach main-event status?

Man, I really feel sorry for this guy. When he came onto RAW in 2004 and straight off defeated Triple H, I thought that he could be World Champion by the end of 2005 or 06. But since, WWE have gone and dropped him to virtual Heat status. Someone of Benjamin's calibre does not deserve to be stuck in the mid-card ranks with Charlie Haas.

He's proved he can be good as Intercontinental Champion, why not give him a face run, and possibly a WWE Championship shot? If not, will he ever become champion? He has the skills, but WWE doesn't show their appreciation back.

Shelton Benjamin is a great athlete but being a great athlete doesn't really mean you'll be a great pro wrestler. The guy has no presense or charisma. He can barely talk and most of his moves (ie springboard moves) are usually botched. Being a mid-carder isn't a birthright to becoming a main eventer. I get the vibe that Shelton doesn't do everything he could do behind the scenes.

he may be a good wrestler but he lacks entertanment value. in my opinion he will never become main event status. like most pure wrestlers that is all he has and cant (wont) change. like angle he believes he is to good to care about being where hes at. i see him throwing a fit and going to tna to become bigger. however like angle he wont be the number 1 guy in tna either because of what he lacks

The WWE really hasn't tried to develope a good gimmick with him though. His first match on RAW was full of charisma and attitude, but he never got airtime to build it. Then he did the mother's boy routine and now they just ignore the character completely.

The WWE is no longer willing to put any time in to wrestlers. They want instant success or they drop you to Heat. Unless of course you really kiss McMahon's ass and then you'll be all over TV regardless of talent or fan reaction.

I don't think he ever will he just keeps getting held at mid card. Maybe some day they may give him a chance but not anytime soon.

I sincerely doubt it my friend, and I don't think it's through any fault of his own. He's had some great matches with guys at the top of the food chain but in order to reach that next plateau he needs some sort of character.

^ I would have to agree with u he does need some kind of character. He really is kind of dull but he has good in ring skills maybe some day he will get a good push. and develop some personality.

He has a Vince Carter feel to me, for those who watch the NBA. He is naturally, really good at what he does. The problem is that he doesn't seem to have the will to give it his all every time out, or expand himself in any way.
