Sting took part in a media conference this afternoon and talked about his decision to return to professional wrestling by signing with TNA.

Among the highlights of the conference:

# Sting confirmed that he had discussions with WWE prior to signing with TNA.

# He said he felt he needed to give something back to wrestling and pointed out it was Jerry Jarrett who initially gave him his first break in wrestling.

# Sting said he would like to work with Abyss and pointed out he had had some of his better matches with big men like Vader. He compared Abyss to the Giant.

# Sting said the limited schedule offered by TNA was a factor in his decision to sign with them, but said he isn't coming in to be a part time wrestler and is going to work hard to help put TNA on the map.

# He said if TNA was to get a prime time slot on Monday night it would be like the old days and fans would have a choice to make between the two shows. He said he would personally push Spike to give TNA a prime time slot.

# He said he has been working out to get back into shape and hope to get off to a good start with the tag match at the pay-per-view this weekend.

# He talked about the possibility of Ultimate Warrior coming to TNA and said that would be "interesting". He said he had last talked to Warrior when Warrior was working on a documentary.

# Said he would like to have a match with Rock or Steve Austin. Said he was impressed with Samoa Joe and would like to work with him.

# Talked about his religion and how it influences his approach to wrestling. Talked about Shawn Michaels leading a prayer in the locker room after Eddie Guerrero died.

# Said he wants to be remembered as someone who gave back to wrestling because it gave him so much.
