Default Chris Jericho: The Most Underused Star in Wrestling

Throughout the history of the WWE, many superstars have been pushed to the top, some deserving, some not. Guys like Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Kahli, Batista, Randy Orton and Mark Henry have all had there time in the spotlight while other, more deserving stars sat on the sidelines. Names like Curt Hennig, Owen Hart, Ted Dibiase, Ricky Steamboat and Rick Rude all come up when the word 'underused' is said. To me, all of those guys were great, yes, but one name stands out amoung the bunch. One name has more charisma, mnic skill and in ring ability then half of the WWE locker room past or present. That name is Chris Jericho.

When Jericho debuted in the WWE in 1999, inturpting the Rock, I thought from day one, this guy is something special. His gift for entertaining peopl and his undeniable charisma is what shows every time he walked through the curtain. He has had many eye opening matches and some may concider Jericho one of the greatest of all time. But why would a man who some say is the greatest of all time only have one lousy 3 month title reign to his credit? Jericho has spent the majority of his carear in the mid card, wrestling for ther IC title. I am not down grading the IC title but Y2J deserves alot more then the IC belt. This man is pure gold on the stick and is entertaining in every form of the word. Jericho is a natural heel who in 2001-2003 was their top heel. Maybe not pushed and represented as the top heel, but in my mind and in alot of people's minds, he was the top heel.

Jericho is without a doubt natural showman. His match and fued with one Shawn Michaels did nothing but show that. At WrestleMania 19, Y2J and HBK had the match of the night and possibly the match of the decade. In addition to his match with HBK, Jericho has had many great encounters with greats like Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, Ric Flair and Chris Benoit. When the word heel is brought up many people think of guys like Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. Yes, all three of those men are quiet possibly the greatest of all time but one other name should be added to that list, and that is, Chris Jericho.

In many fans minds, Chris Jericho is one of the best of all time. He was heavily underused and held down for most of his carear. December 9, 2001 will stand over the test of time for Jericho fans because that is the night that our hero won his only World/WWE Title. Don't get me wrong, Chris Jericho had a carear that everyone can dream of but it's such a shame that a man with such great charisma, mic skills, ring ability and a natural love for entertaining people was held down like he was. When I think of the terms 'great' or 'legend' in his business, I think of the most underused name in wrestling, I think of Chris Jericho.

i am not sure if you wrote all that but i will rep you for trying... you used the correct words.. jericho is the most underUSED superstar.. not most underRATED.. so i applaud you for a great post.

jericho was never a big main event star in many people's eyes... i wondered why. he had the mic skills as the rock, and the wrestling ability as eddie g. what else did he need? he had the fans both love him and hate him at the same time. jericho was one of my favorite characters and insulted anyone at anytime whenever he felt like it.. he was a minor stone cold to be honest.

Pretty cool, never really liked Jericho or his gimmick. The most I liked about him was he left WCW to be in the WWE.

Isn't he suppose to be returning later this year? This is the rumour I am hearing.

I liked him he was pretty good and still would be if he came back. I don't think he was underused in the WWE so much as he was underused in WCW. They could have made him just as big if they tried.

Could someone tell me how he was underused in the WWE? When they had other big stars at the time that meant more to the company. The guy was the first ever undisputed champion what more do u want?

The film is called "Albino Farm" and is based on a legend centric to southern Missouri and the Ozark Mountains. Principal photography begins next Monday, May 21. McEwen tells B-D, "We are shooting entirely on location in Missouri and have assembled and amazing cast and crew. Also, the creatures we've developed are absolutely incredible - Jason Barnett, our creature F/X artist, has designed some visuals that are truly unbelievable. There are things in our story that have never been seen in a horror film before." We'll keep you posted as things move forward.

The film follows the plight of four college students who, while exploring the Ozark Mountains for a midterm assignment on rural America, come face to face with a community of cave-dwelling redneck genetic mutations.

    I would nt say so.

Chris Jericho got wht he really deserved.....you might say he's not got it full, but things do happen.

Jericho was the first Undisputed Champ If I remember right......and he beat Rocky and SCSA in the same night. Now you cant exect to beat those guys cleanly as he was heel.

He's a 7 time ITC champ ( correct me if I am wrong ) or otherwise he's won the ITC championship more than any guy in the business.

He has an elite fan club, and sureshot group of fans anyday.

    He's not at all underused
